Lot: 180 Antique Sulphide Bust Paperweight, probably Apsley Pellat, England, 1819-1847. Spherical finial on spiraling standard with round faceted base, colorless with silver sulphide bust, polished base, ht. 3 3/4 inches; (1/4 inch surface bruise to right of bust, minor flake on base edge). Apsley Pellat became a politician and was eventually elected a Member of Parliament. Unusual and eye appealing. Property of The Strong, sold to benefit the museum's collections fund.
